A great new interactive way to explore the Museum and its collections. Young people take on the role of an explorer, with a special bag of activities and objects and clear instructions. They even get to wear a special explorer's hat!
There are three different themed Explorer Travel Bags to choose from (suitable for different age ranges):
Wildlife Explorer
Go ‘bird watching’ in the Drawing Room and ‘animal hunting’ on the balcony!
Museum Explorer
Discover the hidden workings of a museum through activities such as measuring light levels!
Worldwide Explorer
Discover the tantalising aromas of the East and learn about the traditional treasures of New Zealand!
The Family Explorer Travel Bags are available throughout the year. Please ask at the information desk.
Please return the bags to the information desk after you have done your exploring.
