RUSSELL-COTES TO HOST VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS MUSICAL EVENING!

The Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum, Bournemouth is holding a festive musical evening on 15 December 2011, 7pm to 9.30pm.

After the success of last year’s Victorian Christmas at the museum the Orlando Singers, Chamber Choir, are back. In a candle-lit atmosphere they will be performing at intervals around this unique Victorian building. The evening will involve singing carols with the choir, listening to the Christmas storyteller and costumed festive guides. They will provide the perfect Christmas atmosphere that will be sure to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.

Heritage Manager for Bournemouth Borough Council, Sue Hayward said:

“Last year it was such a success and we are lucky to have the Orlando Singers return. The museum is the perfect place for an event like this, with the candles flickering, costumed guides, Christmas stories and carols it certainly gives a lovely Christmas atmosphere. It also allows us to see what a Victorian Christmas would have been like in Sir Merton and Annie Russell-Cotes lifetime.”

Tickets cost £12.50. Please book in advance by phoning 01202 451858 or calling in at the museum. Mulled wine and mince pies will be available to purchase in the café/bar. More details are available by calling in at the museum or on its website: http://russell-cotes.bournemouth.gov.uk/default.asp
